How to Make E-Commerce Mimic the In-Store Experience

Online stores need to mimic the real store feel to drive brand loyalty and boost sales. The most significant reason shoppers buy from brick and mortar stores vs. online is because they can physically evaluate the products before purchasing. So how do online retailers deliver the same experience as brick and mortar stores? Here are three tips on how to do that:

  1. Allow Customers to “Physically” Evaluate Product
Sure, you might not actually be able to physically hold the product, but you might be able to get close to that experience. For instance, you could integrate a 360 degree view of the product, allowing the customer to spin the product around seeing it from every angle as if she was holding it.
  2. Make Mobile Experiences Interactive
If you can build a mobile site that offers the same experience as a desktop user, you can definitely increase sales from such devices. But even when in the store, you can utilize mobile apps to enhance that experience. By taking advantage of location services, you can send a customer a coupon or alert her of special deals happening in your store when that customer is within a certain distance, enticing her to stop in.
  3. Capitalize on the Importance of Online Reviews
People buy what other people buy and like. It makes consumers more comfortable in what they are purchasing, which increases the likelihood of them making that purchase.
