IBM WebSphere Reporter (IWR) had an interview with Zobrist Consulting Group (ZCG) regarding their newly rebuilt WebSphere Portal based website.
IWR: “Why did ZCG decide to redo your website?”
ZCG: “We are in the business of building websites for companies to run their businesses. And we use IBM WebSphere products as our platform of choice. We have many Clients, Prospects and IBM Representatives visiting our site to understand what we have to offer. So it became clear to us that we need to highlight the power and versatility of WebSphere by redesigning and updating our website. Our goal is to be recognized as the best IBM WebSphere Services Provider in the world.”
IWR: “Was something wrong with the way it is way designed? And why do you need an expensive product like WebSphere?”
ZCG: “Our new website is really just taking our existing site and refreshing each component based on WebSphere Portal. Portal is such a power software product because it easily integrates with a company’s existing legacy applications and simplifies for users company data and information. In terms of cost, many of the WebSphere products are no more than what you would pay for PC based software solutions. You would probably be very surprised at the new WebSphere Express product line pricing.”
IWR: “Are you saying that IBM has lowered prices for their web products? What other things can we expect to see?”
ZCG: “Not only have they lowered the entry cost of deploying WebSphere but they have added so much more function for the money. And again, existing applications can be integrated without reprogramming. We keep a very close eye on expenses when we help a company get their business on to the Internet and start doing business over the Web. And we have found WebSphere to offer the best value for the money, the best function and reliability over the years. We want our Customers to feel like they are getting more for their money when we build web solutions.”
IWR: “Getting back to the website redesign, what other things does the site offer? Can we see WebSphere is action?
ZCG: “Yes, that’s exactly what we have tried to do. We want people to visit the site so that they can see firsthand, for themselves what exactly WebSphere can do. It is our goal to make the www.zobristinc.com site a live demonstration website, allowing anyone to see the product. It is part of our long range plan to help more and more companies rebuild their e-businesses with WebSphere. This along with keeping our existing Client’s sites robust and active, which should keep their bank accounts lush and green.”
IWR: “Your site actually, has never looked better. So we can expect to see other improvements to WebSphere and existing WebSphere features?”
ZCG: “Besides the new function in Portal, Commerce Suite for ecommerce and WebSphere Application Server have also been significantly enhanced. And new upgrades for each product are in the works for 2007.”
IWR: “Anything else you would like to share with us today?”
ZCG: “We hope that our Clients are happy with all the changes they see on our website and also hope that they can bear with us as we continue to grow. We have a long list of projects in the backlog and in some cases, it is an inconvenience for our Clients to wait as we build or reconstruct their existing sites. But in the long run, we want to make solutions that will really help their businesses grow.”
